FAQs
Are dogs and children allowed?
Well behaved dogs are very welcome, in fact, I’ll be over the moon if you bring a furry friend along. Please just make sure you have enough provisions to cover yourself + your dog, and that your dog is used to long walks. In some areas you’ll need to keep your dog on a lead if livestock are around.
All adventures are designed for adults, unless specified as a family-friendly route where children are welcome.
Why are the adventures based in the Peak District?
The Peak District is a stunning national park that offers beautiful views without huge elevation gains required for bigger mountain ranges. There’s lots of variety in the Peak District which means there are plenty of routes suitable for both beginner adventures and those wanting more of a challenge. It’s also very easily accessible and well linked between the major cities of Manchester and Sheffield.
What’s included in the ticket price?
It varies depending on the event, but in general, day adventures cover: the route designed and planned for you, a qualified leader to keep everyone safe and guide the group around, and a qualified outdoor first-aider in case of emergency. Plus, the opportunity to get outside and gain confidence in your abilities, which is priceless!
Can I have a 1-2-1 adventure?
Absolutely, I would love to take you out and we can plan the day or weekend according to your current level and goals for the adventure. We can cover skill work, coaching towards your own leading qualifications, or I can just be a supporting guide if you’re nervous about getting into the outdoors. Drop me a message using the link below and I’ll be in touch to discuss further.
What’s the difference between these and free community hikes?
Free community hikes (which are fantastic for encouraging more people to get into the outdoors!) are often organised by an outdoor lover, but they may not be a qualified leader who is trained in route planning, emergency procedures, outdoor first aid, and group management. So it’s worth checking beforehand so you know before joining a free hike - who is taking responsibility for the group and are they trained to know how to do this?
Will I know who else is joining?
Yes, there’ll be a Whatsapp group set up around a week before the event. This will mean you can get to know your fellow adventurers and get all the updated details you need from Beth, plus the opportunity to ask any questions you need.
