After-Work Hikes & Wild Dips in the Peak District

£25.00

Multiple Dates

Unwind after the workday with a relaxed, guided evening hike in the Peak District. These shorter walks are designed to fit into your evening after work, offering a gentle escape into nature without the need for a full day’s commitment.

Set in the beautiful rolling hills of the Peak District, each walk is around 4 miles with only a touch of elevation - enough to feel rewarding, but always at an easy, relaxed pace. These hikes are beginner-friendly, sociable, and never strenuous, making them ideal whether you’re new to hiking or simply looking for a laid-back evening outdoors.

And the best part? Dinner with a view.

All events are open to everyone, with the exception of our Three Shires Head events, which are for women only.

Exact meeting points and details will be sent out via email nearer to the event.

Dates

June

Thursday 18th June 6:30-10pm at the Roaches
My favourite sunset & sunrise spot in the Peak District, you really can’t beat it, this route is great for beginners and only a short walk back to the car after nightfall.

July

Friday 3rd July 6-10pm at Three Shires Head (women only)
This route includes a wild dip at the waterfalls in the river, great for beginners and a refreshing start to your weekend.

Friday 10th July 6-10pm at Curbar Edge
The views from Curbar & Froggatt Edge are so stunning, this route is very flat and all about the scenery.

Thursday 23rd July 6-9:30pm at Longstone Edge (Calver)
This is a super quiet area which has half the route up on the edge and half the route winding down through the valley brimming with wildlife.

Friday 24th July 6:30-10pm at Higher Shelf Stones (Bleaklow)
A great hike up from the legendary Snake Pass - this is true Peak District moorland and good for those who want a little more effort required.

Friday 31st July 6:30-9:30pm at Bradwell Moor
Another lovely quiet area just below the Edale Skyline which you can see from the sunset view point.

August

Friday 21st August 6-9:30pm Hike & Pint at Goyt Valley
This is a lovely easy route through the gorgeous Goyt valley and loops past the famous Cat & Fiddle pub where we can stop for a drink near the end. What a belter of a summer Friday night!

Public Transport options:
The events on 10th and 23rd July are Public Transport Friendly as Curbar & Calver are both accessible via train to Grindleford and I can pick you up from the station and drop you off afterwards (please let me know upon booking), however please check your route home corresponds with the later finish time and ensure there will be trains available. None of the others are easily accessed by public transport and would involve multiple sources (buses/trains) however please get in touch if you want to consider these options and need some help.

Everything you need to bring

  • Dinner & snacks

  • 1l of water on a cool day, 2l on a hot day

  • Suitable hiking clothes: whatever you feel comfortable in but try to avoid wearing cotton. Make sure you have both warm and cold weather clothing options all year round as the temperature can change quickly, including suitable waterproofs.

  • Footwear: hiking boots, hiking shoes, trail shoes, or trail runners that have good grip. Please do not wear fashion trainers or any smooth soled shoes.

  • Wild dip (optional - for Three Shires Head events): swimsuit, towel or towel poncho, water shoes are recommended

  • Any personal items you need: phone, medications, tissues/toilet roll with a zip lock bag for any wild wees, hand sanitiser, money/card, portable charger.

  • Warmer weather: cap, sun protection, sunglasses

  • Cooler weather: hat, gloves, extra warm layer in your bag, face buff

  • Something to sit on such as a foldable sit-mat, small picnic blanket, extra jacket

  • Head-torch for the walk back to the car after sunset

Please note the ‘wild dip’ at Three Shires Head is completely optional so there’s no pressure if you don’t fancy going in the water. For those who’d like to give it a go, please bear in mind the water will be cold so ensure you have some warm clothes to put on afterwards. I recommend bringing a flask of warm drink too. Water shoes are recommended to protect your feet on any rocks in the water.
