Summer Sunset Hike at Curbar Edge

What a beautiful way to spend your Saturday evening, at the stunning Curbar Edge for sunset over the rolling hills of the Peak District. We’ll be in a small group with a focus on getting some fresh air, making some new friends, and bonding over the views! We’ll have a lovely hike and visit the highland cows on Baslow Edge before finding a spot to sit at Curbar Edge for the views at dusk. We’ll then return to our cars as it’s getting dark so don’t forget your head-torch!


Route Summary:

4:30pm-9:30pm (Approx.)

7 miles + 300m elevation (spread across the route)

Beginner friendly

Exact meeting point and details will be sent out via email nearer to the event.

Everything you need to bring:

  • Dinner & snacks

  • 1l of water on a cool day, 2l on a hot day

  • Suitable hiking clothes: whatever you feel comfortable in but try to avoid wearing cotton. Make sure you have both warm and cold weather clothing options all year round as the temperature can change quickly, including suitable waterproofs.

  • Footwear: hiking boots, hiking shoes, trail shoes, or trail runners that have good grip. Please do not wear fashion trainers or any smooth soled shoes.

  • A head-torch for after sunset.

  • Any personal items you need: phone, medications, tissues/toilet roll with a zip lock bag for any wild wees, hand sanitiser, money/card, portable charger.

  • Warmer weather: cap, sun protection, sunglasses

  • Cooler weather: hat, gloves, extra warm layer in your bag, face buff

  • Something to sit on such as a foldable sit-mat, small picnic blanket, extra jacket
